CURRENTLY
Founder and CEO of Q Solutions, LLC Organizational Consulting. We specialize in leadership development.
Pastor, Founder (1998), and CEO of Every Word Ministries, a non-profit religious organization in Pittsburg CA..
AS A STUDENT
1976 – 78: I studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
Majored in Applied Percussion.
1982 – 86: I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theology with minors in Biblical Languages and History from Oakwood College in Huntsville, AL. I served as a Greek tutor from 1984 – 86 and President of the Religion and Theology Forum (1985-86).
1988 – 90: I earned a Master of Divinity degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI. I served as a Greek tutor from 1988 – 89, and Executive Secretary of the Black Student Association of the Seminary.
1992 – 93: I studied Liberation Theology at New York Theological Seminary in New York, NY.
1993 – 95: I earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH, as a Cosby/Wheeler Scholar specializing in the African American Church of the Twenty-first Century. My project was entitled, A Maunal for Church Leaders, to Transform the Consciousness and Practice of the Church as it Relates to the Divine-Human Image in Art, in Accordance with the Second Commandment.
2003-05; I earned a Master of Arts in Organizational Psychology at Alliant International University in San Francisco, CA.
2008: I earned a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology at Alliant International University in San Francisco, CA. My doctoral thesis is entitled: A Qualitative Study of Spiritual Intelligence in Organizational leaders.
AS A LEADER
I am an Ordained Minister (1992) – Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, NY. I pastored in New York – 1986-1995 (Northeastern Conference) and Pittsburg, CA – 1995-1997 (Northern California Conference) .
AS A PROFESSIONAL
My pastoral work has consisted of revivals and evangelism throughout the West Indies, Europe, and the United States, and across denominational lines. I have published numerous articles in the Message Magazine (An international magazine geared toward African Americans), and have also served as a ghost writer for a number of prominent ministers whose articles featured in Message and Ministry magazines respectively. I served as editor for The Gift of the Gospel by renowned biblical scholar, Dr. A. Ganoune Diop, and The Black Heritage Bible Studies by Pastor Stephen Williams.
My organizational activities have included organizational consulting with churches in the form of team building, program design, strategic planning, pastoral leadership, stewardship, leadership seminars, workshops, coaching, and mentoring.
INTERESTS
My interests include composing, arranging, and drumming; playing music, video editing and production, writing and research, reading, and health and fitness.
Since 1976, I have toured, recorded, performed, and appeared as a drummer with numerous musical artists including: The Kuumba Singers of Harvard University and Radcliff College, A Special Blend, Solar, Wintley Phipps, Shelton Kilby, Clifton Davis, Mervyn Warren, Tramaine Hawkins, Richard Smallwood, and Kevin Eubanks, Aznayah, and many others.
I have performed at the New Orleans Jazz festival, the Charles River Jazz Festival, and with the Atlanta Symphony. I also appeared on the Bobby Jones Gospel Hour. I am the featured drummer on numerous CDs, records, and Tapes including: 1982 – Solar; 1982-86 – Oakwood College-Precious Memories (Brian Jones; Anthony Whigham, A Special Blend, Greg Forbes); 1994 – A Special Blend; 2003 – AZANYAH; 2004 – On My Mission; and 2005 – The Morning Sky Tsunami Benefit Project. I am currently featured on a 2006 re-release of the Solar project, "Faith For My Mind" in Japan.
I occasionally teach drum set, and in 2001 served as a judge for up and coming young talent at the East Bay Drum-off, an amateur drum competition sponsored by Guitar Center and Pearl Drums.

I am a single father of two teen children.
